2018 Europe Tour Begins!

Temple University, Rome Campus


We visited the inspiring studios of Temple’s Rome campus where Tyler students and local artists gathered as printmakers to create their first water-based woodblock using traditional Japanese methods taught by Motoharu Asaka with translation by Louise Rouse. All prints were carved and printed in the space of 6.5 hours! A great start to the tour! More dates are coming up over the next month, see our full schedule here:

Louise Rouse is a printmaker and book artist based in Tokyo. She teaches in the undergraduate art program at Temple University, Japan and has been helping at the Takumi studio for around 5 years.
